Description

1. 3D ART! I really had an under-appreciation for this medium until I majored in computer animation in college. It's a tough and complicated subject, but very addicting. Not to mention you'll get fabulous results with lots of practice and patience.

2. I got to watch Bobby Chiu's panel at Dragon*Con this Summer. It taught me a lot of things about coloring techniques that I would have never thought of myself before, but the man has lots of drive which I find inspiring.

3. ANIMALS/TIGERS! Awee! He's blushing cuz I picked a picture of him...Seriously, I love Tiger's enough to base my fursona around them, and I'm a Tiger based on the Chinese Zodiac. Never really cared for Dolls growing up, but give me a stuffed animal or figurine I'd be entertained for hours. Wanted to be veterinarian when I was a kid, before I got a good grip on drawing.

4. Impressionism! Ever look at old art and find it is rather dark? Everything seems to just fade to black, but these pioneer artists really explored the aspect of color! It's not really a GREEN tree, but override what you were taught in primary school and start observing what you see.

5. I really loved Sailor Moon when I was a young teenager. I love Naoko's watercolors, and even the anime and manga had its good points. Got really into shojo manga after this...

6. COSTUMING OF ALL KINDS! Fursuiting, dressing up, cosplay? You name it! I absolutely love this Steampunk outfit. My friends are into going on Kimono outings just because, and half of them aren't even Japanese. But they sure do know there stuff! Knowledge has no limits. I wish I had more time and patience to throw together an outfit, but for now I shall just admire!

7. Language. I love language, and I wish there was more opportunity for me to study and practice what I know. I am relearning Spanish next year, and plan on traveling abroad in the Summer.

8. Rumiko Takahashi's characters and layout! Her layouts are FABULOUS! It made be filled with white space at times, but you will never be confused on what's going on in the panels of her stories. It's not overly saturated with action, it's just enough to get the point across. To me, sometimes less is more.

9. Daft Punk and Electronic Sounding Music
Discovery and Tron Soundtrack are my favorites!
I like Russian musica that my friend gave me. It has a very different vibe from the American pop counterpart. As long as its not overly saturated with Autotune...*shudders*

10. Pokemon. Love the games and the card games! I run my own League, and its been really fun and inspiring experience for me.

11. Sgt Frog. Okay. Don't laugh. I was really judgmental about this. I thought Keroro Gunso was really going to suck when I first opened the manga, but its actually really ingenious. Even the anime is amazingly dubbed in English?! I have a personal attraction to Giroro's character. Perhaps it is because he is like a parallel copy of Knuckles?! Red, ill tempered, but really a softy inside? YES!

12. Disgaea and RPGs! Unless you are playing a lot on your DS there really isn't much in the way of RPGs for TV oriented consoles anymore. Disgaea 3 makes up for this in bounds and leaps. The story...I just can't describe it, and how much I busted my gut laughing at how ridiculously serious it takes itself in comical ways. I love quirky games like Katamari, too.

13. KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA COMICS! Wow, where to even start? I will love this comic until the day I die, that's how much I love it! This is a cover from Knuckles #8, where Dimitri/Enerjak proceeds to torture and beat the mental crap out of Knuckles. I don't know why it amuses me, but its one of my favorites. Sadistic much? No not really, but Dimitri went from being a super, egotistical badass to gentlemanly leader of an outcasted society. Or as Kabren puts it, "Oh yes, and the Dark Legion; I come to the realization that sometimes it's not about good vs evil... but about one ideal vs another. The Dark Legion appear to be evil at first, until you realize their goal is to restore the technology that was banned hundreds of years ago when it caused conflict within Echidna society".

Enjoy! I sleep now! :meow:

Huh. I don't know how I never saw this till now. Very cool influences. Of course, I already knew you love the Knuckles series. I didn't know you were so into electronic music, which is primarily what I listen to (House, Trance, Chill, Rave. I can't stand Dubstep, aaarrrgh! *bashes brains in*).
